Jennifer Clark

Assistant Director and Liaison

In 1990, Jennifer moved with her family to Colorado. The oldest of four siblings, she knew from an early age that her passion was in education and loved to “educate” her siblings. She graduated from Mile High Baptist School in 1993 where she was Valedictorian (of a class of 3). After graduation she moved to Florida to pursue and successfully receive her B.S in Elementary Education from Pensacola Christian College in 1997. She began her teaching career at Pensacola Christian Academy. After four years, the mountains were calling and she returned home to Colorado where she pursued her Masters degree with licensure in Elementary Education at Regis University. After her graduation from Regis University, she
started working as a long term substitute teacher in the far northeast in Denver Public schools. It was during this first opportunity to teach in Colorado that she found a new love and passion for teaching at risk students. Her passion to work with at risk students led her to take a position at Florida Pitt Waller K-8 in 2006. Her amazing drive and love for teaching resulted in her receiving the prestigious Teacher of the Year award from DPS and Mayor Michael Hancock in 2011 and being honored every year from 2011-2016 as a Distinguished Teacher. She was then asked to focus on teaching English language learners in K-8th grades as well as take the responsibility of acting as a teacher leader/mentor to other teachers in their classrooms.

In 2015, Jennifer began teaching at the Porter-Billups Leadership Academy using the fourth grade Jackie Robinson curriculum and realized immediately that this was what she had been called to do. After two summers, she jumped at the opportunity and accepted the challenge to work as the Assistant Director of the Porter-Billups Leadership Academy and has never looked back. She is a firm believer in building student relationships and in preparing ALL students for success.

Jennifer just celebrated five years of marriage to her generous and loving husband, Robert (Bob) Clark, Vice President of Tax for TLP Partners, LLC. Her work at PBLA comes in a close second to being a stay at home mom to her hilarious and adorable three year old son, Summit.
